The tentative agreement reached between Local 2936 and Coos County, according to AFSCME public affairs officer Don Loving, includes the wage and health benefits packages listed below:

€ the county will pay a composite rate of $680 per month, per employee, from March to January. This is based on an insurance package that costs an average of $727 per month, per employee.

€ county employees can receive $690 per month, per employee up to January for a health benefits package if they agree to either give back to the county one day of vacation, one floating holiday or two sick leave days.

€ beginning in January 2005, the county will pay a composite rate of $727 per month, per employee, for a health benefits package.

€ beginning in July 2005, the county will pay a composite rate of $828 per month, per employee for a health benefits package.

€ the county will give each employee a $53 a month across-the-board raise, beginning in July 2005, which averages to about 2 percent, according to Loving.

€ employees will receive the day after Thanksgiving as a paid holiday, beginning in 2006.

€ the new contract expires on June 30, 2006.
