Truck safety workshop set at Ocean Spray

The Coos-Curry Farm Bureau will sponsor a workshop on farm truck/trailers and truck safety in Oregon at 6:30 p.m. on March 2, at the Ocean Spray Processing Plant on U.S. Highway 101 south of Bandon.
The workshop will be presented by Oregon Department of Transportation staff, who will cover topics such as new legislation and the requirements for farm truck safety inspections, DOT number requirements, rear-impact guard/rear end protection, CDL requirements, a summary of law regarding farm endorsements on driver's licenses, operating farm trucks under lease agreements, parts and accessories, and the difference between interstate and intrastate trucking. They also will demonstrate a Level 2 "walk-around" inspection on a farm truck.
