Even the largest districts are hit

PORTLAND (AP) - Oregon's public school population declined last fall. Here are the 2003-04 enrollment figures for the state's ten largest districts, and the percentage change from the previous year:
- Portland 48,906, down 5.3 percent
- Salem-Keizer 37,877, up 2 percent
- Beaverton 35,333, no change
- Hillsboro 19,105, up 1.4 percent
- Eugene 18,476, down 1.4 percent
- North Clackamas 16,182, up 2.6 percent
- Bend-LaPine 13,940, up 2 percent
- Medford 12,854, down 1.2 percent
- Tigard-Tualatin 11,909, down 0.6 percent
- Gresham-Barlow 11,845, up 1.1 percent.
