Sweet shots

Thursday, January 22, 2004 |
Sunset Middle School Vice Principal Travis Howard, above, takes his shot at fame Tuesday evening during halftime at the Marshfield High Shool boys basketball game. Howard and all the Coos Bay School District's principals took a couple of free-throws, knowing if they were successful, all the students from their schools who were attending the game would get free ice cream from Umpqua Dairy.
As Howard was shooting the other administrators watching were Arnie Roblan (right) from Marshfield High School; Nancy Tedder, Millicoma Intermediate School; Jennifer Haliski, Blossom Gulch Elementary School; Arlene Roblan, Madison Elementary School. On the far right is Marshfield's Athletic Directory Greg Mulkey. Even with practice, it was hard to make the shots. In the end, Mulkey announced each of the kids attending the game would get an ice cream bar.
