Red Cross to sponsor classes in November

The Oregon Pacific Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor classes in first aid and CPR during the month of November. All Red Cross courses will be taught at the South Coast District Office at 300 Anderson Ave. in Coos Bay.
Pre-registration and prepayment are required and at least three participants are needed for a class to be held.
€ "Community First Aid and Safety" is a full-day class covering first aid as well as adult, child and infant CPR. Participants are asked to dress comfortably for the class. The cost of the full course is $40, or $32 to attend only the CPR segment.
The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in Coos Bay. A break for lunch will be given.
€ "Standard First Aid" is an OSHA-compliant course designed to meet the needs of business and industry. Topics to be covered include shock, controlling bleeding, splinting and adult CPR. The full program costs $48, or $40 for the CPR portion alone. A breathing barrier is included in the fee.
The class will be taught from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Coos Bay.
€ "Infant/Child CPR" is a course designed especially for professional child-care providers. The class fee is $30.
The class will be taught from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, in Coos Bay.
€ "Bloodborne Pathogens: Preventing Disease Transmission" combines lectures, videos and demonstrations to build awareness of blood-borne pathogens and teach exposure-prevention skills. The program costs $20.
The class will be offered from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 in Coos Bay.
