Fair board wants your suggestions

Friday, November 14, 2003 |
The Coos County Fair Board is inviting the public to suggest themes for the Coos County Fair and a grand marshal for the Coos County Fair Parade in 2004.
Suggested themes should be applicable to the fair, the parade and all fair activities throughout the year. Past slogans for the county fair have included "Party With Some Real Animals," this year; "Bee Bop a Moo Moo," in 2002; and "Ropin' the Fun," in 2001. The winner of the theme contest will receive two season passes to the 2004 fair, scheduled for July 28-Aug. 1.
Submissions for grand marshal candidates should include explanations why the candidate should be selected for the position. Special consideration will be given to those with extensive past involvement in the fair.
Entries for the fair theme and grand marshal should be mailed to Coos County Fair, P.O. Box 332, Myrtle Point, OR 97458. All submissions must be received by noon Tuesday, Nov. 18; there is no limit on the number of entries that may be sent.
For more information, those interested can call the Fair Board office at 572-2002.
