Four awards of $250 were recently presented to prize-winning artists featured in the Coos Art Museum's eighth-annual Maritime Art Exhibit.
The People's Choice Award, picked by popular vote of exhibit viewers, went to Rose Perez of Pacific City, for her oil painting entitled "After The Storm." The watercolor "New Wheel, New Paint," by local painter "Charles of Charleston" Edmunds was chosen for the Board of Directors' Award.
The Best of Show Award was presented to Toledo artist Ivan Kelly for his oil painting "January Sky," while Coos Bay artist Merrie Holbert garnered the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay Award for her watercolor, "Rust & Ropes."
The exhibit, which features 50 works by members of the American Society of Marine Artists, runs through July 28 at the Coos Art Museum, which is located in downtown Coos Bay.
